2025 Class Descriptions

Here are the days and times for this session’s classes:
Sunday Classes:
– 9:00a-10:20a
Intermediate Nosework. This class is a continuation of Beginners Nosework I. A fun way to use your dog’s nose. It’s for anyone wanting to get involved in Nosework on a playful or competitive level. Learn about the scents used, how to use them, and how to search for them with your dog as a team! Learn to READ your dog’s alert. Work your way towards trialing.
– 10:40a-12:00a
Advanced Nosework. Prepare for upcoming trials, work new search areas, vehicles, exteriors, and the possibility of buried. Let’s get ready for trialing!
– 1:00p-3:00p Novice Nosework. Instructor Betty P.
This is a fun way to to use your dog’s nose. This class is for those already in Nosework on a playful or competitive level. Learn about the scents used, how to use them, how to handle them properly, and how to search for them with your dog as a team! Work your way towards trialing if the bug bites you!

Monday Classes
– 5:45p-6:30p Agility Advanced Instructor Nancy M LIMIT 6
This class is for teams having completed the Agility Intermediate class and are into competition levels. 
– 6:45p-7:45p
Agility Intermediate Instructor Nancy M LIMIT 6
This class is for teams having completed the Agility Beginners and are going into competition! More practice, more ribbons and onto Advanced Intermediate!

Tuesday Classes
– 5:45p-6:45p Sports Foundation I
Instructor Nancy M LIMIT10
This is a TWO part class, 8 weeks each for a total of 16 weeks of sports foundation training. Session 1: begins January 2025. Session 2 TBD. For those wanting to continue onto Agility, you MUST take both Foundation classes!
Session 1: Concentration is on building Focus, Body Awareness, Motivations, and introduction to agility/obedience/rally obstacles. Goal is to build confidence in your dog, learn what motivates them, and create a bond for life (every day and/or competition).
– 7:00p-7:45p
Agility Beginners Instructor Nancy M LIMIT 9
This class is for teams having successfully completed Sports Foundations I & II. Your dog must have a reliable recall, sits, downs, stays, and be able to work off leash. You will be building on skills learned in Sports Foundations I & II and morphing into more sequenced obstacles for Agility. Next step is Beginner Intermediate Agility.

Wednesday Classes:
– 4:00- 4:45p Puppy Class I Instructors: Becca M and Leslie K (Puppies must be 8 weeks to 5 months old on starting date of class) LIMIT 10
Puppies must have first set of shots. Start your puppy out right with socialization, basic training, activities, sights, sounds, and surfaces in a controlled setting. Information on raising a puppy, effective training/learning techniques, and “puppy practical skills” such as sit and come.
– 5:00- 5:45p Puppy Class II Instructors: Becca M and Leslie K (Puppies 4-8 months old) LIMIT 10
Puppies must have vaccination records and at 6 months first rabies. This is a continuation of Puppy I with socialization and house manners emphasis. Next class: Beginner Obedience!
– 6:00p- 6:45p Beginner Obedience Instructor Sandra T LIMIT 15
This class is for dogs 5 months and older. Every day good manners and responsible dog ownership are taught through basic obedience/manners. Topics covered: Controlled/loose leash walking, coming when called, going through doorways, sits, downs, stays, and jumping.

REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR VACCINATION RECORDS AND VERIFICATION OF RABIES VACCINATION WITH YOU TO ORIENTATION. (Puppies under 6 months are exempt from the proof of rabies immunizations. If you do not have your rabies proof with you orientation night, please furnish it at the next class).
